This is an original animation cel, created by Disney artists, and photographed during the making of The Little Mermaid.  This scene is a headshot of Ariel at the logoon. The approximate size of the cel is 7 in X 12 in.. First the animator’s pencil drawings are transferred with a special xerographic transfer process, then it is hand-painted onto acetate by the artists of the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint department.  The background is a photographic reproduction, created from the original master background.
