This is an original animation cel, created by Disney artists, and photographed during the making of The Little Mermaid.  In this scene, Ariel is admiring a figure of a couple dancing and wishing to be human. The approximate size of the cel is 7 3/4 in X 15 in.. First the animator’s pencil drawings are transferred with a special xerox transfer process, then it is hand-painted onto acetate by the artists of the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint department.  The background is a photographic reproduction, created from the original master background.
