This is an original animation cel, created by Disney artists, and photographed during the making of The Little Mermaid.  In this scene, Ariel is gazing into Ursula’s crystal ball at an image of Eric. The approximate size of the cel is 8 3/4 in X 14 3/4 in.. First the animator’s pencil drawings are transferred with a special xerox transfer process, then it is hand-painted onto acetate be the artists of the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint department.  The background is a photographic reproduction, created from the original master background.
