This is an original animation cel, created by Disney artists, and photographed during the making of The Little Mermaid.  In this scene, as Ariel sings Ursula’s magic hands prepare to take Ariel’s voice from her. The approximate size of the cel is 15 in X 10 in.. First the animator’s pencil drawings are transferred with a special xerographic transfer process, then it is hand-painted on to acetate by the artists of the Walt Disney Studios Ink and Paint department.  The background is a photographic reproduction, created from the original master background.
