This piece is #23 of 25 Publisher’s Proof cels (regular edition—500) from Disney’s classic, Bambi. This scene, “Bambi say Bird”, depicts Thumper as he teaches Bambi his first word, “bird”, while Thumper’s sisters and precious birds look on. Recreated by Disney artists using traditional animation techniques of transferring original animation drawings to acetate cels by a six-step process. Then, they hand-paint each cel and apply it to a background which was reproduced using original background paintings, sketches and frames from the film as references The approximate size to the cel is 11 ¼ x15 in.
